my gymnast

Well,

I arrive home today to learn that Luke’s gymnastics teacher wants to chat with me. So I call her…the school wants Luke to move to the boys Pre-Team program…he has great enthusiasm, flexibility and strength. Did I mention he is about an inch away from a complete split? Seriously…So we have to decide if we can commit the time---2 days a week about 1.5 hours a session. Apparently if I decide to do this, I must meet with the owner and sign a contract which commits us soley to this gym (we are fortunate that its so close I could walk there, and it’s the best training gym in the area). So I am VERY proud of him, but my kids do not pick low intensity sports. I always sensed that when the boys would move to the next level of hockey that Luke would most likely drop it as its really Aleks passion, but its just as easy to have 2 there as 1 for now. Its convenient that I could drop Luke off and bring the other 2 home and return for Luke. BUT it is a big schedule on top of our other commitments both financially and time wise. But if he is that good, I would want him to grow to his potential, and he does love it. The teacher had to escourt him out of the gym floor today---he did not want to leave. On the other hand, we are taking a break from swim lessons until summer, and its only one more activity, and its winter so they don’t get a chance to burn off much energy outside, so winter is as good a time as any to start this. If he decides not to continue, we can drop it…aye!
